Adictivo Imperial 12 Years Extra Añejo Tequila is produced from 100% pure Blue Weber agave in Jalisco, Mexico — aged 12 years in sherry casks, imparting a subtle red hue to its rich amber color. Only 1,000 bottles allocated to the US market per release, making this among the most limited standard Adictivo expressions. Extra Añejo requires a minimum of three years in oak; at 12 years, this is four times the minimum.

Sherry cask aging for tequila is unusual — most añejo tequila uses American bourbon barrels or French oak. The Oloroso or Pedro Ximénez sherry cask (the specific type is not disclosed) adds dark dried fruit, oxidative complexity, and the subtle sweetness from residual sherry compounds. At 12 years in sherry casks, the oak and sherry influence is dominant but the agave character remains present beneath the extended maturation.
