Akashi Blended Whisky

Akashi Blended Whisky is from Eigashima Shuzo — Japan’s smallest whisky producer, near Kobe Bay in the historic town of Akashi (“Sun Rise City”). Founded in 1888, Eigashima holds Japan’s first whisky license (issued 1919), but only began producing premium whisky in 1984 using copper pot stills at their ‘White Oak’ facility. A blended Japanese whisky carrying the savory, saline character of the Kobe Bay coast.

The distillery’s coastal Kobe Bay setting influences the maturing whisky, producing the ocean-laden saline-driven purity that distinguishes Akashi from inland Japanese whisky. The Blended expression is the entry to the Akashi range — the broader category that includes the higher-end Akashi Single Malt and the flavored Akashi Ume.
