Alberta Distillers Rare Batch No. 2

For 21 years in the foothills of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, three barrel styles slowly influenced the ageing of Alberta Distillers Rare Batch No. 2 100% Rye Whisky: Canadian Whisky, Bourbon, and New White Oak.

Using a traditional maturation process, Alberta Distillers laid the barrels down in a rack-style arrangement, promoting greater airflow around the barrels at a higher elevation.

This, in combination with the dry air and Chinook winds of the foothills, influenced several flavour profiles.

Producer's Tasting Notes

Nose: Spicy with hints of caramel and oak.

Palate: Notes of vanilla, dark molasses and a touch of pepper.

Finish: Smooth and sweet.
