Commercial Description:
An interesting bottling from Indian whisky experts Amrut, the base single malt for Spectrum 004 was aged in ex-bourbon casks before being finished in a custom-made cask crafted from four individual components fitted together in equal proportion. There are new American oak staves with a char level of three, French limousin oak, ex-oloroso sherry cask staves, and ex-PX sherry cask staves in the mix.
Tasting Note
Nose: Dried mango and vanilla lead with star anise, burnt oak, vanilla, and caramel in support.
Palate: Sandalwood and more vanilla appear among caraway, blackberry jam, and coconut cream.
Finish: Dried fruit and vanilla sponge remain.
