Ardbeg Anthology: The Unicorn’s Tale is a 14-year-old single malt Scotch whisky from Islay, released in 2024 as the second installment in Ardbeg’s Anthology Collection. This expression is matured in a combination of aromatic Madeira and classic bourbon casks, resulting in a unique fusion of sweet and smoky flavors. Bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration, it offers a rich and complex profile.

Tasting Notes:

• Aroma: Rich and sweet with notes of baked banana bread and syrupy sponge pudding, complemented by treacle and a hint of burning cedarwood. A splash of water reveals tropical fruits and eucalyptus oil mingling with soft, aromatic smoke.

• Palate: Zesty lime and sweet peaches lead into rich smoked fruit and baked bread, transitioning to flavors reminiscent of antiseptic lozenges, creosote, and aniseed. Soft barley malt combines with nutmeg and peat smoke for added depth.

• Finish: A whimsically smoky finish with lingering notes of menthol, clove, wood smoke, and camphor, showcasing the influence of the Madeira casks.
