Up into the trees, up to the summit, and back down again, the All-Trac™ toe crampon gives you traction in all directions, while wider traction tabs on the sides and corners complement sharp front and rear points for confident hiking. The weight-activated StabiLock Rear Traction optimizes the weight distribution to dig in the serrated traction at the heel for sure footing on the most technical terrain. Because we love trees we like the aluminum ReactiV™ frame which changes from a cylindrical to an elliptical shape to increase strength where the frame bears the greatest load. This creates a stiffer, more responsive snowshoe frame for quick changes of direction. And by all means, let’s lighten the load… the Montane BC uses flexible Nytex decking which is (and this is important) quiet when you’re hiking in the cold and durable without adding excess weight. A Spring-Loaded™ Suspension’s (SLS) patented design suspends the snowshoe close underfoot, it doesn’t drag, so it can move freely with its intended articulation, absorbing impact, flexing naturally side-to-side, and allowing deeper crampon penetration into the slope without compromising your stride. Lastly, this shoe uses The Wrapp™ Swift binding which blends a technical fit with comfort and ease of use with an easy positive toe locater, warm EVA padding, and straps that cinch and release seamlessly, working with the EZ Heel Buckle for single handed convenience in and out of the binding.
