OVERVIEW:

During the first week of June 2022, Kenny & Ryan held the inaugural "PURSUIT PALOOZA" hosting over 100 Patreon Members.  We tried to pack as much barrel selection activity into that week.  On Wednesday, June 1st, we headed over to Wild Turkey for 4 Russell's Reserve barrels, Thursday, June 2nd was 2 barrels from Four Roses, and we capped the week off on Friday, June 3rd with 2 barrels from Barrell Craft Spirits.

Fellow Patreon members and Palooza attendees Bret Marquardt, Andrew Mettman rounded out the selection team alongside Kenny & Ryan.  Barrell Craft Spirits always takes us on a flavor journey pushing the envelope with super creative and yummy barrel finishes and blends.  The team came away with 2 spectacular selections, a four-part blend of straight bourbon whiskeys, and a blend of whiskeys finished in a cognac cask.  Enjoy our Cognac Finished Selection we are calling "CURIOSITY".

Blend AQ47, Proof 123.94, 61.97% ABV, Finished in a Cognac Cask

TASTING NOTES:

• Nose:  The nose, especially with time to sit, is all sorts of confectioner sweetness: Powdered sugar, fried dough, cane sugar, maple, toffee.
• Palate:  The palate is layered: sweet-fronted with a grappling, prickly woodsy spice, transitioning to citrus, peach, a floral bouquet with drips of honey, and a woodsy, oaky finish.
• Finish:  The trailing is full of bright stone fruits, tingly and lingering with a refreshing finish.
• Final Thoughts:  If you liked or wanted to like Seagrass or Dovetail but they were a bit too much… this is certainly a whiskey for you.
