The oldest rye released by Basil Hayden to date. Like all good Ryes it has a lingering spice, here made more subtle and approachable by the time spent in barrel. The nose shows the age with a strong scent of vanilla and oak balanced by hints of fruit, and the flavor is approachable and warm with caramel and spice. There are some nice tobacco notes to compliment the cinnamon heat on the finish. A rye that is rich with a nice warming spice, but is stile mild and approachable.
