Don Ciccio & Figli Nocino Walnut Liqueur is a rich Italian style walnut cordial made in Washington, DC. Green walnut husks give it a bittersweet depth, with aromas of baking spice, vanilla, ripe berries, and dark chocolate. Bottled at 29% ABV, it brings enough structure for stirred whiskey cocktails while still working as a chilled after dinner pour.

Producer

Don Ciccio & Figli was revived in Washington, DC by Francesco Amodeo, a fourth generation distiller whose family roots trace back to the Amalfi Coast. The Amodeo family began making liqueurs in Italy in 1883, and Francesco brought those traditions to DC in 2012. The producer specializes in Italian inspired amari, aperitivi, and cordials built from old family recipes.

Don Ciccio & Figli Nocino Walnut Liqueur is especially useful in a Walnut Old Fashioned with bourbon or rye, bitters, and an orange twist. The liqueur adds walnut, vanilla, spice, and dark fruit notes, giving the cocktail a deeper fall and winter profile without making it feel heavy.
