We brew Deciduous to welcome the return of Autumn and to celebrate New England's changing foliage. Inspired by the dynamic New England climate, we recalibrate and evolve our recipe annually to produce a new iteration each Fall. For the 2020 rendition, we took last year's beloved recipe, a soft and juicy Galaxy/Simcoe DIPA with a hefty amount of flaked oats, and gave it our DDH treatment.
Presenting an inviting soft yellow color with a heavy haze, Deciduous 2020 displays a remarkably complex aroma. The nose is first greeted with a charge of Galaxy's signature overripe tropical fruit character, offering notes of pineapple juice, sliced mango, and passion fruit. As the beer transitions towards the back of the palate, Simcoe makes its presence known, providing a vibrant grapefruit zest and resinous pine character that allows for balance and nuance. Soft and satisfyingly full-bodied thanks to the generous oat addition, Deciduous finishes a touch more bitter than the typical Trillium Double IPA.
