Driven: An Autobiography

I was born into a very different America than the one we have today, and after more than eight decades, I’ve seen the world change in ways my younger self could never have imagined.During that transformation, I experienced success and failure, joy and heartbreak, great confidence, and deep uncertainty. Through it all, I kept moving forward, building a life of meaning and stability for myself and those I love.This book tells that story. Of my search for significance, the risks I took, the mistakes I made, the lessons I learned, and the people who shaped me along the way. It’s about business and ambition, certainly, but more than that, it’s about faith, family, friendship, perseverance, and the realization that success not shared is an empty success.Today, my greatest joys come from spending time with the love of my life, Susan; my siblings, Anne, Don, Jean, and Sheila; daughters, Linda and Kathi; grandchildren, Spencer, Luke, and Cassidy; my many dear friends; and my loyal dog, Ellie.I wrote these pages for my family, those here today and those to come.
