Taste
E.H. Taylor Four Grain Bourbon is one of many exceptional versions crafted by E.H. Taylor and still produced at the award-winning Buffalo Trace Distillery. This marvelous bourbon, made from Mash Bill #1, shares its pedigree with other great blends such as Eagle Rare, Buffalo Trace, and George T. Stagg. With a lower rye content than Mash Bill #2, it offers a rich tapestry of flavors, featuring prominent notes of sweet vanilla mingling beautifully with toasted oak. On the palate, you'll uncover subtle hints of toffee, layered with delightful notes of figs, all rounded out by underlining hints of oak that linger gracefully, making each sip a complex and rewarding experience.

History
E.H. Taylor Four Grain Bourbon is a limited edition bourbon that has been cured in oak barrels for thirteen months. It is crafted by a true innovator whose vision was ahead of his time. In 1869, E.H. Taylor acquired a small distillery located in Frankfurt, Kentucky, on the edge of the Kentucky River, originally named The Old Fire Copper Distillery. Taylor began renovating and modernizing the plant by purchasing copper fermentation tanks, new grain grinding equipment, and unique columnar stills. He implemented several innovative distilling techniques, including aging whiskey in climate-controlled rickhouses, ensuring a quality product. While other distilleries were adding syrups and artificial flavors, Taylor focused on the purity of the bourbon. His partnership with Treasury Secretary John G. Carlisle led to the passage of the Bottled-In-Bond Act in 1897, which set standards for quality in the industry. This fine bourbon is crafted from hand-selected barrels and bottled directly from the barrel at more than 125 proof, representing the traditional methods of bourbon production before Prohibition when Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr. owned Buffalo Trace Distillery.
