Guatemala San Martin Jilotepeque

This Guatemala is grown high in the mountains of San Martin Jilotepeque. This is an organic Guatemala that is also currently featured in our Breakfast blend and Wild espresso. The coffee varieties grown here are Caturra and Catuai. We love this coffee for its rich and chocolaty profile, medium to high body, medium acidity, and notes of brown sugar, honey, milk chocolate, orange and nectarine.  

The farmers behind this lot belong to the Asproguate farmers association. Asproguate holds monthly workshops in organic fertilizers, fungicides, and insecticides so producers can make these essential products on their own farms. The association has made efforts to increase membership and participation from women who currently make up fifty-five percent membership. 

Costa Rica Dota

Our importer behind this coffee, La Minita, owns and operates a farm in Costa Rica and they also source coffee from their neighbors and surrounding communities. This coffee is from smallholder farmers in the Dota county bordering the Tarrazú county. This area is mountainous and rugged, and the elevations are plenty high for specialty coffee to flourish at 1200-1900 meters above sea level. This region is recognized globally for its specialty coffee. The coffee has notes of caramel, almond, dates, and chocolate with medium acidity and a clean finish.
