Ferrand Légendaire Grande Champagne Cognac

Légendaire is a Cognac that more than lives up to its name. This is the ultimate expression from Ferrand Cognac. It was crafted by Master Blender, Alexandre Gabriel, using his over 30 years of experience and rare, exquisite and historic eaux-de-vie from Grande Champagne, the Premier Cru of Cognac. Before bottling, it was slipped into a small ‘zebra’ wood cask – a barrel striped by the periodic replacement of old staves with new ones – to add even more complexity and finesse. The zebra-striped cask in which the blend comes together, yields only 500 bottles of a truly sublime, one-of-a-kind Cognac.

It is the ultimate expression of the quest for perfection that defines Ferrand Cognac. A Cognac as distinguished and rare as Légendaire is destined to be served from a carafe as awe-inspiring as the unparalleled liquid. The jaw-dropping, hand-blown decanter was created by the French crystal maker Waltersperger and is nestled into a carved wooden box, complete with a knocker not unlike that on the door of Mademoiselle Manor in Segonzac, home to ten generations of the Ferrand family.

This liquid itself opens with aromas of plum liqueur chocolates, tobacco, roses in an antique library, tawny Port, passionfruit and walnut oil, before revealing a palate of pepper, chai tea spices, earthy Hungarian paprika, marmalade, honey, blackberry jam, saffron, jasmine, cocoa, incense, blackberry, moss and caramelised almonds.
