Of course, the carafe is convenient and capable of steaming milk to your preferred froth level automatically. Similarly, the flow adjustment dial on the height-adjustable coffee dispenser allows for even more control over the extraction.

The Accademia impressed us with its detachable milk carafe, which snaps into place, frothing up delicious bevvies on demand and automatically rinsing afterward. One thing to keep in mind with the Accademia, it doesn’t get milk straight from the refrigerator quite as hot as some other machines. It’s within the temperature sweet spot, but, if you like your milk on the hotter side, you can always steam with the wand, or take a look at the Gaggia Velasca Prestige or Gaggia Babilia for hotter automatic steaming machines. Back to the Accademia, it’s a smart machine, alerting you to any maintenance needs along the way, and descaling all on its own.
