The Sperss is all about muscle, power and structure.

This Barolo is deeply structured, with dark fruit, pencil lead, iron, and earthy tones arranged in tightly etched layers. Wild cherry and orange peel bring brightness to the powerful profile, while firm tannins provide a long architectural frame. It is compelling now for its intensity, but its balance and concentration point to a long and rewarding evolution in the cellar.

Medium-bodied with a tight palate and very fine tannins that run the length of the wine.

The bouquet combines rose, sandalwood, stems, plum, and fresh berry with savory spice. On the palate, the wine is linear and focused, carried by very fine tannins and subtle notes of nutmeg and baked pastry. Its youthful restraint favors patience, and several years of bottle age should allow the aromatic detail and mineral finish to broaden.

Juicy and fleshy, evoking cherry, raspberry, floral and licorice flavors.

This is a harmonious, open-knit Sperss with generous cherry and raspberry fruit supported by floral and licorice accents. The texture is supple at first, then a firmer mineral edge emerges toward the finish. Its balance makes it approachable, but additional aging should integrate the structure and deepen its savory complexity.
