G&M Connoisseurs Choice Pulteney 1997

Another Canadian exclusive from Gordon & MacPhail this precious liquid from Scotland's most northerly mainland distillery was distilled in 1997 and bottled in March 2021. The full 23 year maturation was in a refill bourbon cask and was bottled without chill filtration or added colour. Total outturn: 123 bottles worldwide. 

Nose: Plum pudding, sweet Sherry notes - but these are pared back by salt, treacle, new leather shoes and brandy.  

Palate: Super smooth and silky, crisp saltiness. This whisky is absolutely delicious and does not stray from the Pulteney DNA of distinct maritime properties but very approachable.

Finish: Sherry on the medium finish, some leather and milk chocolate lingering.
