High West American Prairie - High West American Prairie Bourbon brings us this complex blend of straight bourbons aged from 2 to 13 years in charred white oak barrels, producing an aromatic whiskey. Balanced flavors of candy corn, honey nougat, and sweet corn bread biscuits, with a finish of vanilla and caramel apple.
High West American Prairie Bourbon is a small-batch blend of two straight Bourbons, a 6 year from Seagrams in Lawrenceberg, Indiana and a 10 year old from Four Roses with a higher rye content in the mashbill by comparison:
6 year old Bourbon: Mashbill of 75% Corn, 20% rye, 5% barley malt.
10 year old Bourbon: Mashbill of 60% Corn, 35% rye, and 5% barley malt.
High West Double Rye - High West Double Rye is the result of combining a young, spicy rye whiskey based on 95% Rye, and a decadent 16-year-old milder rye whiskey. The older whiskey comes from a mash bill of 53% Rye and 37% corn. This sweeter style restrains the bite of the young rye whiskey without overpowering its charm, which is apparent when used as a sub for bourbon in a Mint Julep!
High West Campfire - High West Campfire combines straight Indiana rye, straight Indiana bourbon, and peated blended malt scotch, putting them together in heavily toasted French and Hungarian oak wine barrels.
High West Campfire the scotch adds hearty, meaty flavors to the dry, spicy, and rich bourbon and rye.
High West Campfire is a robust and beefy whiskey, with smoke reminiscent of Southern barbecue. Earlier releases of this ambitious whiskey didn’t quite hit the mark. Now, it’s right on target.
