To attain the hearty, full-bodied profile of American whiskeys and High West's signature style, High West High Country Single Malt is distilled “on-the-grain," keeping the grain in during fermentation and distillation. We follow the traditions of both American and Scottish whiskey making, maturing High West High Country Single Malt with freshly charred and second-use oak barrels. Resulting in a whiskey that is distinctively American yet delicious - boasting a heavier mouthfeel, roasted malt character, and a delectable complexity.
