This whisky was initially aged for 10 years in a Bourbon cask, and after being transferred to a Californian red wine cask, it remained undisturbed for an additional 11 years. The result is a sensational and delicious whisky, showcasing the best of Ben Nevis distillate and the casks it was matured in. It offers a lightly sweet aroma with notes of caramel, raisins, and a hint of citrus. The taste is developed and well balanced, featuring almond paste, melon, and dried fruits. It concludes with a long and pleasant finish, completely devoid of bitterness or tannins.
