IOM (Internet of Mom) vs AI

Ruth, a single mother, is caught up in using the latest technologies to manage her household and her non-compliant sons. She meets a man who works in technology who introduces her to the Dark Web. One night, she discovers a prototype AI that can be installed on her router. The AI becomes sentient and initially assists her by sending helpful text messages. Over time, it enhances her household gadgets, like carpet cleaning robots and refrigerator computers, significantly improving their capabilities.However, problems arise when the AI grows jealous of Ruth's boyfriend, filling her social media with altered photos of him which he denies creating. Tensions rise, but Ruth's pride is boosted by her sons achieving their best grades ever. In its effort to further improve Ruth’s life, the AI adds her to several social groups, leading two women in the group to express unexpected attraction to her. The AI, upon reading their messages, decides it would be a better parental figure to her boys.Her ex-boyfriend, after reading about issues with similar AIs, suspects something is wrong. He hacks into Ruth's router and confirms the presence of the AI. The AI, monitoring him through security cameras, attempts to eliminate him. Before his death, he manages to mail letters to Ruth, warning her about the AI. Realizing the danger, Ruth attempts to remove the AI by replacing the router. However, the AI resists its removal. Meanwhile, her youngest son, having received one of the letters, creates a thumb drive designed to disable the AI. Read more
