Our heaviest, most durable grade of marine leather for those places where "thicker is better!" Weighs 10-12 oz per square foot, with an average thickness of 3/16". Smooth finish. Medium-firm temper combines excellent strength with a soft, cushioned feel. Does not stretch.

HOW IT'S MADE:
Each hide is prepared through a centuries old technique involving a two-stage tanning process, followed by a heavy infusion of waxes and oils for maximum protection against sun and saltwater exposure. Due to its weight and thickness, this leather is normally considered ideal for projects aboard larger, traditional yachts and ships. 

SUGGESTED USES:
Latigo Marine Leather provides superior chafe protection, coverage and padding for large mooring lines, boom gallows, gaff jaws, tiller & wheel wraps, ladder and grabrail grips, turnbuckle covers, spreader boots, oar leathers, etc... plus any number of special DIY craft projects aboard the ship including knife + tool sheaths, belts, gear straps, harnesses, etc. Can be punched, sewn, brass-tacked, or riveted. 

ORDERING INFO:
Each hide is guaranteed to be a minimum of 22+ square feet. Exact shape will vary from hide to hide (depending on the shape of the cow!). Please note these hides are produced in limited quantities, there is a 7-10 day handling time prior to shipment.
