Life with Lily: Growing up Dysfunctional

I grew up with narcissists (mainly my mother and my stepfather), it was a very stressful upbringing. Imagine your family is always fighting about something, all day, everyday. Getting beat over spilled milk.I married too young just to get away from my mother and found myself in a relationship with another narcissist. I had two children from him and I felt like I was stuck in a marriage that I no longer wanted to be in after seven years.Getting away from my mother was easy, she made me get out of her house one day. But getting away from my husband was the hardest part, it took me years to finally leave him for good. And then, as if that wasn’t enough, eight years later, I met another narcissist. Whereas, I gave birth to another child, he was worse than the worst, compared to all of them. That relationship would only last eleven months.I survived all the emotional, mental and physical abuse that was inflicted upon me from the people whom I was supposed to love and vice versa. And to this day, I am afraid to get involved with anyone. I don’t even try to look for love. I love my peaceful life but at the same time I also get very lonely.
