Lunazul Reposado Tequila - 750ml

Lunazul Reposado is produced at the Tierra de Agaves Distillery — NOM 1513 — on the Beckmann family estate in the town of Tequila, Jalisco, where blue Weber agave has been cultivated on the same volcanic soils at the base of the Tequila Volcano for over 250 years. The estate's vertical integration — agave grown, distilled, and bottled on a single property — ensures continuity of quality from the field through to the finished expression. The Reposado begins from the same estate-grown agave base and double distillation in copper alembic pot stills that defines the Blanco, with the distinction lying entirely in what follows distillation.

Following distillation, the spirit is aged in Kentucky bourbon barrels for six months — a maturation period that sits at the longer end of the reposado category's legal minimum and introduces meaningful wood character without crossing into añejo territory. The bourbon barrel's residual vanilla and caramel compounds integrate gradually with the agave distillate over the six-month rest, while the American white oak contributes a light tannin structure and a subtle smokiness that carries through to the finish. The spirit is hand-bottled on the estate, maintaining the artisanal character of the production at its final stage.

The nose is delicate and fruit-forward, with baked pineapple, lush caramel, and a vanilla undercurrent drawn from the bourbon barrel. The palate carries semi-sweet vanilla, ripe fruit, and layered spice through a medium-bodied mid-palate that retains the earthy agave character beneath the wood influence. The finish is long and creamy, closing on light smoke, warm spice, and a fading sweetness that reflects the balance between the estate agave and the six months of Kentucky oak maturation.
