Macallan 12YR Sherry Oak Single Malt Scotch Whiskey

Macallan 12 Year Scotch is one of Speyside’s standard-bearers. This superb scotch is rich gold in color and comes highly recommended by almost anyone with a discerning palate. The initial aroma hits your nose with a sweet, winey and oaky scent highlighted by sherry, ginger, dried fruits and wood smoke. That aroma then expands thanks to aeration, allowing hints of cinnamon, cocoa butter, honey, marzipan, molasses, treacle and vanilla bean to come through.

When it hits your palate, the entry is assertive with a sweet, creamy taste that is deliciously smooth. The flavor then evolves midpalate and becomes intensely nutty, buttery and smooth like bacon fat with the beginnings of rancio. 

Intended to be shared during an evening with friends, you can enjoy Macallan 12 Year Scotch straight, with water or over ice. As a way to bring out the dried fruit and cinnamon notes in this scotch, pair it with a plate of goat cheese and fruit flavors during a tasting experience.
