Mars Shinshu Komagatake - Tsunuki Aging 2019 Single Malt Whisky

Mars Shinshu Komagatake Tsunuki Aging 2019 is a single malt Japanese whisky distilled at Mars Shinshu in the Nagano Alps and aged at the Tsunuki Distillery and warehouse in Kagoshima Prefecture, southern Japan. The dual-location distillation and aging combines the cool Nagano climate at distillation with warmer southern aging conditions at Tsunuki.

The Hombo family operates two distilleries (Mars Shinshu in Nagano and Tsunuki in Kagoshima) plus the Yakushima Aging Cellar. The Tsunuki location is historically significant as the original Hombo family distillery site before the 1984 relocation to Nagano. Aging Komagatake-distilled spirit at Tsunuki marks a return to the family’s southern roots while drawing on the cool-distillation advantage of the Nagano Alps.
