From the always-excellent Michter's Distillery (Louisville) bottled at cask strength. Master Distiller, Dan McKee, said “we’ve put out some terrific Barrel Strength Rye over the years. Personally, I love this 2022 release for its richness, complexity and depth. It’s a perfect representation of our Michter’s house style.”
Nose: Cooked berries, burnt oak, caramelized dates and a hint of cassia.
Palate: Cinder toffee, heavy rye spice with some oily grain texture, cinnamon gum and melted butter.
Finish: Lasting peppery heat and a hint of smoke.
