• It's crafted from a blend of 2–4 year old column- and pot-still rums, with a higher ratio of flavor-rich pot-still distillate compared to the original Eclipse.

Tasting Profile

Aroma

• Aromas are surprisingly restrained given the proof: think banana, vanilla extract, pineapple, peach tea, passionfruit, milk chocolate, cardamom, and leather. Little obvious ethanol nose.

Palate

• Powerful profile with waves of allspice, molasses cookies, dessert banana, baked peach, and coconut—balanced with vanilla and caramel sweetness. Electric higher-ester character brings a syrupy punch.

• Also shows notes of almond butter, honey syrup, grapefruit peel, and faint grassy cane.

Finish

• Long and warming with black pepper, cinnamon, dark chocolate, oak tannin, and slight bitterness trailing off. The finish is punchy but not overly stuck in the ethanol burn.
