The same radiant burner, heat exchanger, and internal pressure regulator that make the Reactor the benchmark for cold and wind performance are all present here in a tighter package. The heat exchanger completely encloses the burner head, making wind virtually irrelevant to boil times, and the pressure regulator keeps output consistent as temperatures drop and the canister empties. Half a litre boils in 1.5 minutes under test conditions, with a real-world performance advantage over competing canister stoves that widens further when conditions get genuinely cold and windy on a Canadian winter or alpine trip.

The 1.0L system nests optimally with MSR's smaller-diameter 4 oz canisters, keeping the packed kit impressively compact for its performance level. It's the right choice for fast and light objectives, solo ski touring, and any situation where pack space is at an absolute premium without wanting to sacrifice the best boil times available.
