Care & maintenance
Stainless steel is forgiving, but the plunger needs regular attention.
- Disassemble the plunger: After every brew, pull apart the plunger rod, filter screen, and silicone seal. Rinse under warm water to clear trapped grounds.
- Hand wash: The mug body is dishwasher-safe, but the plunger parts are not. A bottle brush and warm soapy water work best for the inside.
- Dry fully: Leave the mug open and disassembled to air-dry. Trapped moisture in the plunger can harbor odors.
- Check the seal: If the lid starts leaking, the silicone gasket may be worn. Replace it, most flip-lid gaskets are universal.

How do I brew in this mug?
Add coarse-ground coffee to the mug, pour hot water (about 200°F), stir once, place the plunger on top without pressing, and wait 4 minutes. Press down slowly, flip the lid, and drink.
Is it spill-proof?
Leak-resistant, not spill-proof. The flip lid seals well when closed, but it is not a travel thermos with a full locking mechanism. Keep it upright in the car cupholder.
How long does it stay hot?
6–12 hours, depending on the starting temperature and ambient conditions. Fill with boiling water, and it will still be warm by mid-afternoon. Cold brew stays cold just as long.
What grind should I use?
Coarse, like French press standard. Too fine and the grounds slip past the filter into your drink. A burr grinder on the coarsest setting works well.
Can I use it for tea?
Yes. Loose-leaf tea works better than coffee in this format, no sludge at the bottom, and the plunger keeps the leaves contained. Brew time depends on the tea type, but 3–5 minutes is typical.
