While Old Rip Van Winkle shares the same mash bill and family of products as Pappy, it stands apart with a slightly different taste and presentation, as well as a more limited price range. Often regarded as the "entry level" offering in the Old Rip Van Winkle lineup, it is bottled at nearly cask strength with a 107 proof, with a touch of limestone water added before bottling.
