Oppidan Solera Aged Bourbon

Oppidan’s Solera Aged Bourbon is a lesson in creative whiskey production, creating a complex spirit with great flavor integration. Made from a surprising 5-grain mash bill consisting of corn, malted rye, chocolate malted rye, and two different kinds of barley, the distillate already start out life with a great combination of complex cereal flavors. It is then aged in the solar style, which means that the barrels are never truly emptied. Over time the different ages of the fill mingle together, creating a great coherence of flavor batch to batch. The spirit is aged in American oak, French oak, and Oloroso sherry casks, creating a truly original combination of flavors and techniques for a truly original Bourbon.
