The enveloping nose of violets and elderberries pulls you into this ripe and vibrant wine that shows what his appellation can do. Very focused and straight with an excellent tannin structure and youthfulness that suggests this has many years ahead of it. The long, energetic finish seals the deal! From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Drink or hold.
Winemaker Notes
Without a doubt one of the greatest wines of Cairanne, from the superb 2019 vintage. Made from 70-year-old vines on clay-limestone soil. Aged 24 months in barrel. It's rich, smooth, structured, concentrated, and balanced with silky tannin and solid acid. Licorice, pepper, black fruit, leather, smoke, and nutmeg swim over the round palate. It will ideally pair with a rib roast or a garlic-studded leg of lamb.
Blend : 50% Mourvedre, 40% Grenache, 10% Syrah
