The 2017 is broad and richly fruited, yet it retains poise and energy. Blackberry, blackcurrant and walnut flavors are shaped by firm, chewy tannins that give the wine definition and intensity. The tannins finish ripe and polished, and the wine has now had time to come together.

The warm, dry vintage produced compact berries and a generous, fruit-forward Ornellaia with notable density and concentration. Black and purple fruit move into spice, tobacco, leather, black olive and wild sage. These elements remain harmonious, supported by exceptionally well-managed tannins and a long cellar horizon.
