History
Partida Anejo Tequila is crafted with agave that has been aged from 7 to 10 years and matured eighteen months in oak barrels. It is produced from blue agave nectar sourced near El Cerro, which is an area that has a dormant volcano, in Santiago de Tequila, Mexico. These unique qualities provide the rich, red soil, which creates the perfect terrain for maturing the agave plant. With years of experience, jimadors determine exactly when each agave is ready for harvest. The pinas are perfectly ripened with mature, robust sugars, the blue agave is harvested by hand and slowly baked in state-of-the-art autoclaves to preserve freshness and flavor. After the agave has been baked and shredded, Valdez lets the agave juices ferment for nearly two days before twice distilling the tequila and then aged 18 months in ex-Jack Daniels barrels. Partida’s Reposado and Anejo are aged 50% more than required, and like ripe sweet apples, this aging makes for a better taste. Partida Tequila is completely natural with no additives and no coloration.
