Perrier-Jouët Belle Époque Brut 2015 is a vintage prestige cuvée produced by Maison Perrier-Jouët in Épernay, in the heart of the Champagne appellation of northeastern France — a house established in 1811 and built around an enduring philosophical commitment to Chardonnay as the primary expression of its house style. Belle Époque is produced only in years when Cellar Master Séverine Frerson judges the season to have aligned perfectly across the Maison's Grand Cru terroirs, a standard of selectivity that has resulted in fewer than 30 vintages being released since the cuvée first appeared in 1964. The 2015 growing season — warm, dry, and generous — produced Chardonnay of exceptional ripeness and aromatic concentration across the Côte des Blancs, where the Maison's Grand Cru holdings in Cramant, Avize, and Chouilly provide the floral, mineral backbone that anchors the Belle Époque style across every vintage. The bottle itself is as iconic as the wine inside — adorned with the graceful spray of Japanese white anemones designed for the Maison by Art Nouveau master Emile Gallé in 1902, a design whose production was deemed commercially impractical at the time and shelved for over six decades before being revived for the cuvée's first release.

The 2015 Belle Époque is assembled from approximately 50% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir, and 5% Pinot Meunier, drawn exclusively from Grand Cru villages whose individual terroir contributions Frerson blends with the precision of a single coherent artistic statement rather than a technical average. Following assemblage and secondary fermentation in the bottle, the wine ages on its lees for a minimum of six years in the Maison's cellars in Épernay — double the appellation's legal minimum for vintage Champagne, and a maturation period that Frerson extends until the wine begins to express its full aromatic potential rather than releasing it on a fixed schedule. The dosage is applied at 8 g/L, a restrained level that preserves the wine's natural tension and freshness without imposing sweetness on its mineral structure.

The nose is white gold and luminous, opening with delicate aromas of white flowers — elderflower, white peach blossom — followed by fruity notes of white peach, grapefruit, and poached pear alongside subtle spice of cumin and green pepper that the 2015 vintage's warmth makes possible. The palate is an exceptional combination of freshness and finesse — the Chardonnay's mineral precision and linear acidity from the Grand Cru Cramant and Avize holdings providing structural lift through a mid-palate of ripe orchard fruit and gentle brioche developed during the six years on lees. The finish is long, fine, and graceful, closing on elderflower, mineral chalk, and a slowly fading floral note that is the defining signature of the Maison's house style across every vintage it has chosen to release.
