Rizbaf Gabbeh Rug

These deep-pile rugs are handmade by the Gashghai and Lori nomads. Rizbaf are often knotted from handspun wool. This material gives them a lively and coarse-grained surface structure. At the same time, the surface is soft and cozy, ideal for rooms where you like to move barefoot. Rizbaf are not only knotted in monochrome natural colors, but especially in colorful and imaginative designs. Stylized patterns from the everyday life of nomads, depicting animals, plants or entire landscapes, can be found as well as geometric concepts.
