• [ Application & Purpose] The timing cover alignment kit fits for LS series engines: LS1, LS2, LS3, LS6, LQ4, LQ9, 4.8L, 5.3L, 5.7L, 6.0L, 6.2L. Intended for engine builders and mechanics to replace the front or rear main seal on compatible with GM for LS series engines. Used to install the front cover on compatible with GM for LS engine.
• [Alignment Function] This tool positions the cover relative to the front seal by locating on the inner diameter of the seal bore in the cover (seal not installed). Horizontal alignment of the cover to the oil pan requires attention during assembly. Designed to assist with centering the seal around the crankshaft on for LS engines during assembly. Once slipped over the front snout of the crankshaft, this tool helps locate the seal installed in the front cover to assist with proper orientation on the crankshaft.
• [Material & Construction] Made of billet aluminum and steel. Helps prevent deformation during repeated use. Steel adds rigidity for consistent alignment, while the aluminum body keeps the tool lightweight.
• [ Two Installation Methods] Two methods available:Method 1 – Install seal into cover, loosely install cover. Slip small end of tool over crankshaft snout. Align to oil pan, then tighten bolts to spec.Method 2 – Loosely install cover. Slip large end of tool over crankshaft snout. Align to oil pan, tighten bolts to spec. Install balancer lip seal.
