"We really loved this rich and complex old Enmore with a rather complicated cask history. Lots of typical Enmore pot still character but with extra richness and maturity. We felt it was an obvious candidate for Rum Sponging. Rum Sponge Edition No.24 hails from Enmore in Guyana. The mark is MEV and it was originally from two refill barrels matured in Guyana for over five years before moving to the UK.

"In January 2022, one of those casks was re-racked into a heavily charred hogshead, while the other was re-racked into an American oak STR barrique. We recently married these two cask together then returned that mix into the same two casks to continue marrying and maturing. Rum Sponge Edition No.24 is the first cask of that mix we've bottled and it's very lovely and tastes like the warm embrace of darkness and cloves."
