A mystery Speyside whisky release by independent bottler, Fragrant Drops. This single cask single malt hailing from a secret distillery has plenty to say for itself. Distilled in January 2012, this one spent 13 years maturing including an eight month finish in a first-fill Madeira barrique. The wine influence is present but not overbearing, bringing spice notes of ginger and nutmeg with honey and caramel.
Bottled non-chill filtered with natural colour at a robust 51.4% abv. This is a well-balanced single cask from Fragrant Drops. With just 273 bottles produced, it's a great way to try something a little different without the price tag of a named distillery.
