Founded in 2011 by good friends and affirmed whisky geeks Jason Johnston-Yellin and Joshua Hatton, Single Cask Nation™ began as a social fellowship committed to making rare, fine single cask whiskies available to fellow whisky geeks.
Distilled in 2015 from peated malt and matured for nine years in a first fill ex-bourbon barrel, this expression was bottled in 2025 at natural cask strength by Single Cask Nation. Total worldwide outturn: 207 bottles.
Nose: Big and sweet. Vanilla dominates, but toasted marshmallow lurks in the back.
Palate: An earthy funk underpins a very sweet/savoury palate. Grilled, sugared lemons, and candied ginger give way to a peppery note on the back palate.
Finish: Long, gradual finish with wood spices, soft smoke and caramel.
