Stags' Leap - Sauvignon Blanc - Napa Valley (750mL)

Overview: Established in 1893, Stags’ Leap Winery is one of the oldest wine estates within the acclaimed Stags Leap District, producing wines expressive of its unique terroir. With an enduring winemaking philosophy that honors traditional techniques while embracing modern capabilities, and by using the finest grapes from our own 80-acre vineyard and from quality-focused growers, Stags’ Leap wines embody a natural balance, exhibiting both intensity and finesse, while bringing forth the inherent qualities of each variety.

Our Sauvignon Blanc is primarily sourced from Gamble Ranch in the Oakville AVA with a small portion from Stags Landing in the Stags Leap AVA. Located in the heart of Napa Valley, Oakville provides optimal sun exposure and a diversity of soil types for complex Sauvignon Blanc with refined aromatic expression. Stags Landing vineyard, on the other hand, contributes richer, riper- toned fruit and a distinctive minerality due to its proximity to the Napa River. Winemaker Christophe Paubert waited 10 years for the perfect conditions to produce this inaugural vintage, a tribute to his home of Bordeaux, France.

Tasting Notes: Lovely and bright, offering classic citrus fruit with notes of Meyer lemon and white blossoms. A lean backbone of racy acidity supported by a steely minerality adds to the wine’s crispness and complexity. On the palate, notes of white peach, plum, grapefruit, and zesty lime peel are interwoven with hints of white jasmine, elderflower, ginger, and white pepper, adding depth to the round, soft texture before a lengthy, mouthwatering finish. This elegant, savory wine is a beautiful expression of Napa Valley. 

Pairing: Perfect on its own or when dining al fresco.
