Thomas Labaille Chavignol Les Monts Damnes Sancerre 2023

This comes from one of our favorite sites in Chavignol if not all of Sancerre: Les Monts Damnés  (Hills of the Damned). This is not a reference to anything occult but rather an acknowledgement that at 45 degrees slope, this is a truly challenging site to farm. The vineyard worker's pain if your gain. The nose opens with a beautifully balanced aroma set of citrus, wet stones, and just there tropical fruit notes (this is from the warm 2023 vintage after all.) On the palate this is just shy of moderate in weight with good acid and a flavor set that echoes the nose. Delightful stuff.
