Since firing up its stills in 2017, Torabhaig has been on a journey — releasing small batch expressions through its Legacy Series while its maturing stock slowly found its voice. Now, the distillery has arrived. Taigh (pronounced "tie") is Torabhaig's first permanent core expression: the purest, most complete statement of what this remarkable Isle of Skye distillery is all about.

In Scottish Gaelic, Taigh means house. It's a nod to the restored 19th-century farmstead steading where Torabhaig's copper stills stand — but it means more than that. It means the Sleat Peninsula. The salt air and wild weather of Skye. The small team of locally trained distillers who built something here from scratch. This is their home. This is their whisky.

Crafted in small batches from spirit aged between five and seven years, Taigh is matured in first-fill bourbon barrels and refill bourbon casks — the structural backbone of the distillery's house style — with a careful addition of Madeira casks that brings a rounded, wine-kissed fruit softness to the finish. The peat is present but never dominant. Smoke that lifts. Smoke with taste.

Tasting Notes

• Nose: Soft seaside embers, flint smoke, baked apple, maple syrup, gentle clove and cinnamon spice, and a warm coastal glow
• Palate: Smooth and lightly oily — vanilla custard, toasted almonds, sweet dried fruits, raisins, and elegant peat smoke with a subtle Madeira grape lift
• Finish: Warm and lingering — cinnamon, clove, red berries, toasted oak tannins, and a persistent welcoming glow
