Stunning aromas of beautifully ripe sangiovese with cherries, berries, cedar, sandalwood and orange and lemon blossoms. Medium- to full-bodied with a tannin structure that builds on the palate and ends with intensity and clarity. Muscular but agile. Best after 2029, but already a star of the vintage.

Black currant, blackberry and plum fruit are the highlights, framed by iron and eucalyptus accents. Beefy tannins and bright acidity give this red the potential for aging, while tomato leaf and juniper notes linger. Best from 2030 through 2048. 2,000 cases made, 600 cases imported.

Valdicava is located on the slopes of Montosoli, Montalcino’s most renowned site. The style is for Brunello of real weight, power and richness. It is a wine completely based on great soil and climate, not to mention fabulous viticulture from owner Vincenzo Abbruzzese.
