Pale and crisp, this has yeast and herb flavors, with a creamy character from the mousse. Light and just off-dry, this would make for a fine apéritif. 

Tasting Notes

Nice pale yellow color in the glass with numerous fine bubbles. Fresh and delicate on the nose, this wine sports nice yellow fruits aromas. An elegant wine, well-balanced and pleasant, to be enjoyed on every occasion.

Wonderful as an apertif or with desserts.

Winemaker Notes

The excellent quality of the original cuvee and careful monitoring of the secondary fermentation result in a delightfully fresh and delicate sparkling wine with a charming touch of fruitiness. Although the cuvee is typically created from wines of a single vintage, Vernay is not vintage dated in order to allow the winemaker the flexibility of including wines from other vintages for balance and consistency. Veuve du Vernay is typically Blanc de Blanc, a white wine made exclusively from white grapes, and it is a Brut (dry) sparkling wine, but it is not austere - rather it suggests the characteristics of the fine varieties from which it is made. Many discriminating consumers of champagne have embraced Veuve du Vernay as their favorite French sparkling wine.
