Walter Scott Pinot Noir Cuvee Ruth Eola-Amity Hills 2023

This wine differs from their single vineyard bottlings and shows their skill as blenders. Barrels are selected from truly great sites with volcanic soils in the Eola-Amity Hills such as Justice, Koosah, Sojeau, Temperance Hill, Witness Tree, Bracken and X Novo. The nose opens with deep black cherry, cola, raspberry, black tea, and mixed spices. On the palate this is just shy of moderate in weight with cherries, cola, raspberry and oak spice balanced on the palate.- D&M TASTING NOTES

"A terrific wine at the entry level, the 2023 ‘Cuvee Ruth’ comes from a range of sites throughout the Eola-Amity Hills AVA. Rich red and dark fruits combine with salty soils and loads of minerals, with citrus peel accents. This is already beautifully-defined stuff, with terrific acidity and a smooth mouthfeel. "The words "briary" and "brambly" were meant to describe this wine's blackcap raspberry aroma. Beyond the raspberries, aromas of dried rose petals, black tea and corn masa act as backup singers.
