W.L. Weller Bourbon 12 Year 1L

W.L. Weller 12 Year is a wheated Kentucky straight bourbon aged a minimum of 12 years — far longer than most wheated bourbons — crafted on the original W.L. Weller wheated recipe that replaced rye with wheat as the secondary grain. This is the 1L format.

William Larue Weller introduced the first wheated bourbon in 1849; the same softer, sweeter mash bill underpins Weller and Pappy Van Winkle today. The 12 Year earned a Double Gold at the 2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Tasting Notes

• Nose: Creamy vanilla, caramel, molasses; lanolin, almond, toasty vanilla
