Creativity is about fresh thinking. Creativity is not a linear process, in which you have to learn all the necessary skills before you get started. It is true that creative work in any field involves a growing mastery of skills and concepts. It is not true that they have to be mastered before the creative work can begin.

The Painting Cities to Life challenge offered students the chance to exhibit creativity by focusing on critical habits artists may employ.

1. Comfort with Ambiguity to comfortably handle risk and uncertainty. Idea Generation enables students to expand their range of ideas beyond their current range of thinking.

2. Idea Generation enables students to expand their range of ideas beyond their current range of thinking.

3. Transdisciplinary Research to create new conceptual, theoretical, methodological, and translational innovations that integrate and move beyond discipline-specific approaches to address a common problem.
