Blanton's Silver Label Limited Edition is made with sour mash #2, which is produced with a harmonious blend of corn, rye, and malted barley before maturing in carefully selected American White Oak casks. The aromas on this one are rich and inviting, featuring honey, clover, and pecans that dance in the air. On the palate, you'll notice delightful whiffs of tobacco layered with undertones of warm cinnamon and charred marshmallow, creating a complex flavor profile. History
Blanton's Silver Label Limited Edition is best known as "liquid gold"! It was produced in 1984 under the guidance of Elmer T. Lee, Master distiller at the George T. Stagg Distillery, now known as the famous Buffalo Trace Distillery. There he worked with Colonel Albert Bacon Blanton, the President of the Distillery from 1921-1951. During the time he worked for him, he noticed that whenever there were ambassadors, dignitaries, and Colonel Blanton's family and friends, he would always choose a bottle aged at warehouse H at Buffalo Trace. This unique warehouse, built shortly after prohibition, is the only metal-clad structure at the distillery. The metal construction creates significant temperature fluctuations, affecting the whisky's aging process. Typically aged for 6-8 years and crafted with a higher rye content, Blanton's prioritizes quality and produces limited quantities, making it highly sought after. In 1999, the introduction of eight distinct horse stoppers added to the allure, each featuring a letter that, when combined, spells out “B-L-A-N-T-O-N'-S,” while showcasing various horse race positions. Blanton assures fans that it produces the same number of each stopper every year. Notably, Blanton's found overseas will be 700 ml, while domestic releases are 750 ml.
